1 March looms and thousands of parents are waiting with baited breath

In September 2007, hundreds of thousands of parents started on the school admissions marathon with every expectation that their applications for admission or transfer to the next school would be successful.

Sadly, history points out that in approximately 10 per cent of cases, which equates to almost 100,000 parents, such optimism will be dashed and they will then be contemplating using the statutory appeals process. For many, if not the majority, this will be a daunting expereince and will result in further periods of anxiety and uncertainty.

There will be a lot of media focus on what is now known afectionately as National Offer Day on 1 March. This is the day when all secondary school decisions are sent to parents, although , of course, there are also parents of children transferring to middle or junior school and those children starting school who will also be receiving decisions at different times.

Thankfully, help is at hand for parents which are unsuccessful. School Appeals offers a range of services from self help information and advice to one two one help. School Appeals is now able to represent parents who feel that they need that extra bit of help. Fees are very competitve and are available on request. Details can be obtained from School Appeals on 01903 718741.
